Bad parenting maneuvers begin at home.

When I found out I was going to be a dad I honestly thought there was going to be some major light that would anoint me with parental knowledge on the birth of my son. ... I know really dumb. But you have a good dad or at least a great one from your perspective, you figure it has to be something magical.

Well I did learn something. My parents had no clue what they were doing. You do the best you can. My mom openly admitted all the bad parenting maneuvers they committed when we where kids.

ex. Putting my brother in the basement when he had colic. This was in the Northeast where you had to go out to the garage to get to the basement.

After having my son cry in my ear as a newborn. I can empathizes with this.
